  • Revolves around the IB learner and attributes of the IB learner profile
  • Comprised of six subject groups to ensure breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding (See CIBA's Program of Studies for more detailed information regarding the course offerings.)
  • Focuses on Approaches to Teaching and Learning
  • Emphasizes the DP Core:
  1. Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS): Experiential learning that focuses on personal and interpersonal development
  2. Extended Essay (EE): 4,000 word essay that promotes in depth research skills, creativity, and inquiry
  3. Theory of Knowledge (ToK): Course that explores the nature of knowledge and how we know what we know
  • Assessed on the IB grading scale of 1-7 according to grade descriptors each subject area: DP Grade Descriptors
  • Culminates in the attainment of the IB Diploma if all requirements set forth by the IBO are met
  • Aims to build international mindedness
  • Prepares students for success at university and life beyond
